Hide on his high horse

Slowly but surely many on the right wing of politics are waking up to the realization that the Dirty Politics saga isn't going to go away anytime soon no matter how much they want it to.

While John Key is busy smiling and trying to pretend nothing is wrong, those who no longer have a vested interest in National regaining power are starting to speak out.

Sadly that wasn't the case with Rodney Hide when he first dismissed the allegations that Cameron Slater and Jordan Williams had blackmailed him into resigning. However, as the tide turns against National even those implicated in the scandal are starting to make a bit of sense by letting the gene out of the bottle.

Today, the NZ Herald reported:

The email implicates Collins in a conspiracy to damage the head of the SFO. It's a very big deal. Sadly, it wouldn't be the first time a minister has used underhand tactics and media help to dump a department head, but it's horribly wrong and Collins would be the first minister caught.

We all know that Judith Collins is guilty as all sin and that her only hope is for a narrowly focused and inept inquiry into her misconduct. What we don't know however is who these other Ministers are that Rodney Hide is talking about?

Personally I think he has a duty to name these people, because without us knowing exactly who has also abused their positions of power we cannot hope to cut out enough of the septic wound that is the National led government…we cannot therefore hope to rebuild our once decent democracy into one that New Zealand actually deserves.
